Murder trial goes to High Court

Nigel Hazelwood will have to answer to a Judge and Jury after Chief Magistrate Sonya Young committed his matter to the High Court following the conclusion of the Preliminary Inquiry on Monday at the Serious Offences Court.{{more}}

Hazelwood was charged on May 21, 2008, for the murder of Rayford Browne, which occurred in the Layou mountains.

Prosecutor Nigel Butcher called 12 witnesses to give evidence against the 24-year-old, including Dr Ronald Child, who performed the post-mortem on the deceased.

The Layou resident was represented by Lawyer Arthur Williams. (VM)
