Man fined for cocaine

Stanley Williams will have to dig deep into his pockets to find $4,000 in one month or he will spend the next nine months behind bars.{{more}}

Chief Magistrate Sonya Young found him guilty, after the completion of his trial on Monday, of having in his possession 320 grams of Cocaine on January 18, 2008.

The Rose Place resident was also found with seven grams of Cannabis and was ordered by Magistrate Young to pay $150 in one month or spend two months in prison.

The court heard that Rapid Response Unit (RRU) officers were on patrol in Rose Place when they saw the defendant coming from a house in the area and his crutch appeared to be bulging.

He was approached and a search was conducted on him during which taped packages containing cocaine were found. Williams was also found with $833 which was forfeited. (VM)
