Witness charged with perjury

A main witness to a triple murder case has been charged with perjury.{{more}}

The prosecution in the matter concerning murder accused Rodney Roberts and Jason Henry laid the charge on Thursday May 22nd against Kamara George, 26, labourer of Lowmans Leeward after prosecutor, Station Sergeant Nigel Butcher found that he was lying under oath at the Preliminary Inquiry.

Roberts and Henry were charged with the murders of Reuben Small, 22, Ralson Omoro Boynes, 21 and Javon “John Wayne” Antoine 20, which occurred on August 9, 2007.

George, who was treated as a hostile witness when he gave evidence in the matter, pleaded not guilty and was released on $3000 bail with one surety. The matter was adjourned to July 15 for trial.

Chief Magistrate Sonya Young granted the prosecution one final adjournment in Henry and Roberts’ matter.
