Williams, 20, self-employed gardener of Campden Park, pleaded guilty on Tuesday at the Serious Offences Court after being arrested and charged with having 2342 grams (5 pounds)of cannabis in his possession with intent to supply at Clifton Union Island.

Around 4:30 p.m., Williams arrived at Union Island on motor vessel “Baracuda” and proceeded to disembark.

Police officers noticed the defendant acting in a suspicious manner and approached him requesting a search.

A search conducted on a black plastic bag that Williams was carrying found three taped packages with material resembling cannabis.

He was cautioned and replied, “Officer ah jus carrying it fo ah man in Union Island.”

Williams’ attorney, Joseph Delves, told the court that his client was a first time offender and that she should impose a financial penalty instead of a custodial sentence.
