Chief Magistrate Sonya Young fined Paul Grant $550 for having the drug in his possession. He pleaded guilty and was given two weeks to pay the fine or he will spend two months behind bars.

Acting on information received, police officers went to Saline Bay around 3:30pm, where they saw the defendant. The officers identified themselves and told Grant what they were investigating.

Grant then told the officers that he had some “weed” hidden in the sand and took them to where it was. The cannabis was dug up and was found in a taped package. When cautioned by the officers Grant replied, “Ah my own”.

Grant told the court that he was only going to sell the marijuana to a white guy. (KW)
