Samuel gets two years for gun, ammo possession

Twenty-seven-year old Oscar Samuel is the latest person to be sent to prison for gun and ammunition possession.{{more}}

Samuel, 27, of Gibson Corner, was sentenced to two years imprisonment for possession of one .32 semi automatic pistol and six months for having three rounds of .32 ammunition in his possession on January 29 at Gibson Corner.

He appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Wednesday and pleaded guilty to both charges.

Reports state that police conducted a search warrant at the home of the defendant around 11:40pm and found the unlicensed firearm in a chair.

Samuel was cautioned by the officers and he replied, “Me find it this morning when ah been trimming and me bin gine bring it to the policeman who tek d statement from me.”

Both sentences would run consecutively.
