The lad appeared on Tuesday at the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate Sonya Young and pleaded guilty to possession of 69 grams of cannabis.

Information reaching the court stated that at about 4:30pm on January 7, officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (C.I.D) were in the Lowmans Leeward vicinity when the defendant was seen at the roadside among a group of men.

Police observed that Alvis was acting suspiciously and approached him and asked permission to search him.

The search coughed up a black plastic bag with plant material resembling that of cannabis found in his pants pocket.

He was cautioned and told the police, “This is weed.”(KW)
