Extension Officer on $7,000 bail for ganja

An extension officer in the Ministry of Agriculture has been charged with possession of 5,548 (12 pounds) grams of marijuana on November 15, 2007 with intent to supply.{{more}}

On Tuesday, Ekron Thomas, 24, of Union Island pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of $7,000 with one surety.

Senior Magistrate Donald Browne ordered Thomas to report to the Ashton police station on Mondays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The matter was adjourned to December 21 and was transferred to the Serious Offences Court. (KW)
