‘Bondo’ caught in Grenada

Police authorities in Grenada have turned over a man into local police custody after he had been on the run from police since 2006 on a murder charge.{{more}}

Carlo “Bondo” Free, 29, farmer of Sion Hill was arrested and charged on Tuesday for the murder of Ishmael Byron, 23, of Campden Park between March 29 and May 5, 2006. He was caught in Grenada on May 16th.

He was not allowed to plead and was remanded to her Majesty’s Prison until June 4 when the Preliminary Inquiry is scheduled to get underway.

Two other men are charged along with Free for Byron’s murder: 22 year-old artist, Fitz-Allan “Wizzie” Bramble of Sion Hill and Alaski “Beaver” Samuel, 21, labourer of Redemption Sharpes.

According to police reports, Byron was last seen alive on March 29 and his lifeless body was found in some bushes in the York Mountains in Campden Park on May 5.

A post mortem carried out on Byron’s body revealed he died of a single gunshot wound to his upper back.
