Butcher was at the time addressing a matter involving Billy Adams, a welder of Layou who was remanded to her Majesty’s Prison on Monday for discharging a loaded firearm in the Layou public road on April 22, 2007.

Butcher told the court that there has been an ongoing feud between Adams and members of another gang in the area. Prosecutor Butcher stated that there are shooting incidents on a nightly basis where other persons in the community have to run in fear of their lives.

So far none of the guns from the gun battles have been recovered.

Adams will reappear in court on May 3 for trial.
