There were so many expletives used at the Serious Offences Court on Tuesday that one may have thought it was a Hip-Hop song playing on the radio.{{more}}

Chief Magistrate Simone Churaman had to read out the foul language used by Jaswin Grant who was sentenced to fourteen days imprisonment after pleading guilty to making use of indecent language on a police officer.

The court heard that on Monday, April 16, 2007 an officer was at the Barrouallie Police Station when he heard the defendant using expletives outside. The officer approached the defendant and told him to stop, but Grant refused and continued his onslaught of words.

He was then arrested and taken in custody where he was charged.

He told the court that it was his birthday and he had been drinking heavily. “My worship, it been me birthday, ah been drinking and ah geh drunk,” said Grant.

Grant also has two previous convictions of indecent language.
