Ignorance gets teen in trouble

Nicholas Browne dug himself into a deep hole after pleading guilty at the Serious Offences Court to having 13 grams of cannabis in his possession on January 29.

Chief Magistrate Simone Churaman fined the 16-year-old Kingstown resident $150 to be paid by February 15 or he would go to jail for 14 days.{{more}}

Police Officers nabbed Browne while on mobile patrol in the Kingstown area. The court heard that the police vehicle stopped and requested a search on the youngster and found a bandana in his pocket.

Browne told the court that he found the cannabis and kept it to give to people. Magistrate Churaman questioned him to about why he kept the cannabis to give to people and he replied, “I doan know way people dus use dem fa.”
