Samuel charged $350 for possession of cannabis

Christopher Samuel a 46 year old labourer of Barrouallie/Petit Bordel was fined $350 forthwith for possessing 162 grams of cannabis or in default he will spend 21 days in prison.

Samuel appeared on Monday at the Serious Offences Court where he pled guilty to the charge laid before him.

On January 19, narcotics personnel met the defendant walking along the Richmond public road smoking what appeared to be cannabis. He was also carrying a back pack over his shoulder. He was stopped and a search conducted on him revealed a black plastic bag in his back pack containing the illegal substance. He was cautioned by the officers and replied, “Ah bin carrying it fo sum guys ah goin wuk wid tomorrow.
