White remanded for breaking bond

Mckelley White’s instructions were to stay in his house between the hours of 9 pm and 5 pm as part of his bail bond, but this did not register in the youngster’s brain.

White, 20, who turned up at the Serious Offences Court on Tuesday to hear his drug charge, was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison in breach of his bail bond. Prosecutor Station Sergeant Nigel Butcher made Chief Magistrate Simone Churaman aware that the Layou resident had breached the conditions of his bond.{{more}}

Butcher told the Court that White was involved in an accident in the Vermont area at about 1 am early Monday morning and was lucky to escape without any injuries.

When asked by Chief Magistrate Churaman what he was doing out at that time, he replied “My girlfriend was having a ‘baccanal’ with she mother at her home in Questelles and I thief ah chance to go for her,” he explained.

He was remanded in prison until yesterday.
