Road supervisor granted $15,000 bail for corruption

A Road Supervisor employed with the Ministry of Transport and Works was granted bail of $15,000 at the Magistrate Court on November 24, 2006.

Lerrin May, 45 of New Montrose pled not guilty to four counts of corruption, four counts of obtaining pecuniary advantage and four counts of theft. He was also charged with Leon Dabreo, 58, chauffeur of Diamond who was also arrested and charged on four counts of official corruption along with four charges of theft with Lerrin May.{{more}}

Police said that May allegedly stole over 33 cubic yards of five-eights aggregate belonging to the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines and sold them to Dabreo between June 16 and August 7 this year.

Police also alleged that the aggregate stolen from Layou was to be used for a road project in Calder.

The matter was transferred to the Serious Offences Court to be heard on Monday.
