Glenn Jackson’s inquiry goes before the court on Monday
The highly anticipated Preliminary Inquiry into the death of the late Glenn Jackson, former journalist and Press Secretary to Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves begins next Monday, July 24.
Francis Williams, also know as âYellowâ or âPrickleâ, a 23-year-old man of Sion Hill, has been charged with the murder of Jackson.{{more}}
When contacted on Wednesday, July 19, Director of Public Prosecution, Colin Williams stated that, âWe are ready to prosecuteâ.
Jacksonâs lifeless body was discovered in the back seat of his vehicle at Cane Garden on Monday, March 6, 2006, with a gunshot wound that penetrated his sternum area and exited his back.
During the investigation into Jacksonâs death officers from the Scotland Yard were brought in to assist the local police.
The government had even offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest, charge and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Jacksonâs death.
On Tuesday, May 2, Francis, a participant in the Governmentâs Youth Empowerment Service (Yes) programme, attached to the Ministry of Health appeared before Chief Magistrate Simone Churaman, at the Serious Offenses Court charged with the murder of Jackson. He was remanded in custody. Just before entering the courtroom he held high a light blue Bible and waved it with a confident smile. At the time of his arrest Williams was living with his girlfriend and her mother at their Sion Hill residence.
