Magistrate wants Heritage Square clean-up

On Friday evenings, Heritage Square seems to be a magnet for persons who want to carry out illegal activities.

Last Monday at the Magistrate’s Court in Kingstown, a total of eight persons were charged for possession of cannabis before Senior Magistrate, Carl Joseph.{{more}}

Joseph expressed total dissatisfaction at what goes on at the popular ‘hang-out’ spot on Friday evenings. He stressed that these activities are bringing disgrace to the country and that they need to stop immediately.

One of the persons charged was Mahinda Bute, a labourer of Diamond, charged for having a “bomb” of cannabis in his possession. He was fined $150 forthwith or one month imprisonment.
