He was charged with entering the house of Viola Malcolm of Questelles between August 29 and September 3, and stealing a gas stove, a bed, two gas cylinders and pillows among other items valued at $3,734.

The prosecution told the court that at about 4:30 p.m. on August 29th Viola Malcolm finished cleaning the house and then she left home and did not return until September 3, at 4:45 p.m. At that time she saw that her door lock had been tampered with. The matter was reported to the police.

The items were found with the assistance of the accused, after which he was arrested and charged.

When asked by Magistrate Joseph why he entered the house and stole the items, he replied, “I was thrown out of my house and I was looking for some where to stay.”
