Men plead not guilty to murdering policeman

A lengthy trial seems in the making for four men facing a murder charge.

Shorn George, Earlando Lampkin, Earl Jack, and Randy Shallow pleaded not guilty to murder at the opening of the Assizes in Kingstown last Tuesday. Their clash with the law stems from the death of Police Constable Eslon Richardson whose body was recovered at Belle Vue on the north eastern end of mainland St. Vincent November 14, 2004.

A car owned by Richardson was found burnt in the area between Clare Valley and Chauncey, about 26 miles from where the body was discovered.

Lawyers Kay Bacchus/Browne, Duane Daniel, Joseph Delves and Richard Williams are expected to defend the men.

Director of Public prosecution Colin Williams is appearing on behalf of the crown.
