Challis Roberts of Kingstown Park was asked to pay $150 forthwith or spend one month in prison for having in his possession one rock of cocaine with intent to supply to another.
Roberts, who had several drug-related offences against him, was seen on June 11, 2005 by police officers who were on mobile patrol on the Kingstown Park road at around 1 a.m.{{more}}
The police told the Kingstown Magistrateâs Court that Roberts had a bag over his shoulder and appeared suspicious. After the police identified themselves, they then conducted a search on Roberts and found the rock of cocaine.
Prior to passing sentence, Senior Magistrate Carl Joseph told Roberts that cocaine was a dangerous substance and if persons like him continued to sell this drug to our youths, âall of our young people would be destroyedâ.
