Two face PI for aggravated burglary
Thirty-one-year-old Lennox Phillips of Hadleyâs Village has been committed to stand trial together with a 15-year- old boy for aggravated burglary.
Chief Magistrate Simone Churaman committed the two to stand trial Monday following preliminary inquiries into the matter. {{more}}
The duo were arrested in early October, some three months after they allegedly broke into a Mt. Pleasant dwelling house owned by East Caribbean Homes Corporation.
It is alleged that on July 3, Phillips, armed with a firearm, broke into the house along with the 15-year-old, where they met an elderly watchman, Chrystol Bailey, and a woman, Donna Dick, of Brighton.
Bailey, Dick, Corporal Jacintha Small, Justice of the Peace Joel Deane and arresting officer Sergeant Ashley Francis all gave evidence on Monday.
Phillips is presently facing over 30 years for crimes committed be-tween April and August this year in the general area between Biabou and Mt. Pleasant. These charges include burglary, aggravated burglary, robbery and rape.
He was sentenced last month by the High Court to serve a six-year term for one of the crimes.
