No crime in infant’s death

Police have disclosed that no one was criminally liable for the death of a South Rivers infant earlier this month.
At a sitting of the Serious Offences Court on Tuesday, police told Chief Magistrate Simone Churaman that three-year old Stephon Mc Kenzie was reported to have fallen on his head and subsequently died. {{more}}They said a post mortem was however conducted to determine the cause of death, and based on the report there was no criminal element which would warrant the arrest and charge of anyone.
A police source said that, according to report, the infant awoke and began walking down the stairs. As he did so, he fell on his head and sustained a cracked skull.
Sources said there was a big outcry as people from the community had called for the matter to be investigated.
