Gomea man on bond for drugs

Forty-five-year-old St. Clair Williams of Gomea will have to stay out of trouble for the next six months if he is to avoid activating a bond imposed by the Serious Offences Court.
Last Monday, the Court imposed a six-month bond and a $75 fine on Williams when he pleaded guilty to charges of marijuana cultivation and marijuana possession with intent to supply. {{more}}He was ordered to keep the peace for six months in the sum of $500, failing which he would have to pay the $500 on demand or go to prison for three months.
He was also ordered to pay the fine by 3.00 p.m. that day, with an alternative custodial sentence of seven days.
Williams was arrested Monday at his home in a pre-dawn raid by members of the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) and the Narcotics Division. The law enforcement officers went to Williams’ home to execute a search warrant when they discovered a black plastic bag with marijuana under a bed. The drug amounted to 39 grams.
The police also uprooted seven marijuana trees which were growing behind the house.
