Suzanne’s gives seniors free hair day

It was all smiles at Suzanne’s Hair Studio as several elderly women got their hair and nails done at the hair salon on Wednesday, October 19 for free.

Proprietor Suzanne Goodluck said this was her way of giving back to the many senior citizens who have helped develop this proud independent nation.{{more}}

She noted that letters were sent out to various churches and individuals announcing the special beauty treatment and for the fifth year she has received an overwhelming response.

Speaking with the Searchlight Newspaper, retired teacher, Dorothea Dickson of Mount Pleasant expressed pleasure at the hairstyle she received and was proud of what Goodluck and her staff were doing to show appreciation for the elderly.

Dickson noted that not only were they getting a free beauty treatment, but they also got an opportunity to chat and catch up with old friends.

The special was in celebration of this country’s 26th Independence Anniversary and was offered to senior citizens over the age of 60.
