“I cater for weddings, seminars, workshops, picnics and anniversaries,” said Clarke, while disclosing that she can be contacted at 4566547 or 5933764 at any hour.

Clarke who has a staff of three, said anyone thinking of utilizing her services need not worry; a job is never too small or too big for her to cater for.

The mother of two said that the two things in the world she enjoyed most were cooking and meeting people. Just over a decade ago she decided to explore the opportunity of creating employment for herself by putting her skills to use.

As a student, Clarke was taught the skills of cooking and baking by renowned Home Economics teacher Beatrice Noel, who has become her inspiration over the years.

Like Noel, Clarke is today sharing her skills with Home Economics students in her neighbourhood. She said she learnt at an early age that “knowledge gained and knowledge kept is not knowledge at all”.

Clarke said her challenge was having to always meet her deadlines. “And I have always met my deadlines,” she quipped.

However, she gets a sense of satisfaction by looking at the finished products.

Clarke disclosed plans to expand her business by opening a restaurant or Deli where Vincentians can get “a good soup or salad”.

The caterer advises that young people should consider exploring all the opportunities that is available in cooking and use it to create employment for themselves.
