Roy’s Inn is one year old

Roy’s Inn is one year old

It’s only their first anniversary, but Roy’s Inn has proven to be one of the leading hotels in this country.

According to their motto, “There’s No Place Like It”, guests continue to show their patronage to the Hotel located at Kingstown Park again and again. {{more}}

Manager of the facility LeRoy Lewis credits his hard working staff and God, for the progress made so far, and he showed his appreciation to both entities with a ceremony held on Sunday May 1, at the hotel.

Lewis said that there were challenges in getting the business to grow, but with prayer all things worked together for the best. He stressed that while he has five years to complete some of the major financial commitments of the hotel, which was once known as the financially strained Camelot Inn, he would not wait another four years to give God thanks for the progress made so far.

At the re-dedication ceremony conducted by Father Patrick Mc Intosh that Sunday morning the Reverend commended the Manager for remembering the creator throughout his success.

Mc Intosh said that too many people forget that ancient practice where God is acknowledged as redeemer, sustainer and creator of life. The man of the cloth acknowledged that God created humans to serve him and it was time to get back to the foundation of that principle.

Father Mc Intosh noted that to ensure that God continues to bless the establishment he noted that too often people get caught up in the modern times and don’t take the time out to just say a simple thank you to God. Scriptures from the Bible were read and worship choruses were sung by the staff as well as by those in attendance.

Later that afternoon two members of the staff, pastry chef Katie Ruth Chance and waitress Samantha Westfield were handed tickets to Grenada.

The two tied for the Employee of the Year Award and Manager LeRoy Lewis took the decision to send both workers to sample the Spice Isle.

Second Form student Teanné Ashton of the Girls’ High School was one of two students to receive assistance from the hotel.

Chairman of the Carnival Development Co-operation CDC, Dennis Ambrose,applauded Roy’s Inn for their continued contribution to Vincy Mas. He said that the hotel is a fine example of cooperate sponsorship.

The nine contestants in the Miss SVG Pageant were present and the Roy’s Inn Track Netball team were also in attendance.
