So, in order to prevent this, you can use an oral anti-bacterial mouthwash, along with brushing and flossing.

Additionally, here are 10 tips on dental care during pregnancy:

- Brush your teeth twice daily and floss at least once a day. Use fluoridated toothpaste.

– Don’t fear dental visits during pregnancy and inform your dentist that you are pregnant.

– While sitting in a dental chair, don’t cross your legs. This obstructs the normal blood flow.

– Try to relax while at the dental office.

– Keep a well-balanced diet by eating organic fruits and vegetables.

– Avoid sugary stuff, as it can induce caries formation.

– Drink lots and lots of water.

– Use a toothbrush with a small head. It will reduce gagging.

– Take your time while brushing and concentrate fully on the brushing technique.

– Chew xylitol containing gum after meals. It helps neutralize the acids and fight against the bacteria causing caries.
