Congratulations to Dr. Clotilda Charles, formerly of Mt. Bentinck Bay Road, Georgetown, on attaining her Doctorate in Post Secondary and Adult Education in August 2011 from Capella University in Minnesota, USA.

Dr. Charles is grateful for the teachers who laid the foundation for her education. She gained her elementary education at the Georgetown Government School and her secondary education at the prestigious St. Vincent Girls’ High School. In continuing her education, Dr. Charles obtained a teaching diploma from MICO Teachers’ College in Jamaica and then later migrated to the United States of America to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology at Brooklyn College, New York, and then a Master’s degree in Child and Youth Care Administration at NOVA South Eastern University, Florida.

For the past thirty years, Dr. Charles has contributed much to the educational system both in St. Vincent and aboard. She has been a teacher instructor and facilitator for children and adults. Currently, Dr. Charles is working in one of the Caribbean islands as a Special Education Instructor, where her expertise in special education is utilized.

Dr. Clotilda Charles extends her thanks and appreciation to all teachers, friends, family members, and well wishers who have helped her throughout her life to achieve this milestone. Above all, she gives the highest praise and gratitude to Almighty God, who has sustained and protected her throughout this journey.
