Based on the International Banana Conference, how do you see the future of the banana industry?

Cecil Ryan-Chairman Banana Action Committee- Like any other industry the banana industry will have a secure future if the correct investment decisions are made and the appropriate management decisions made and implemented. Unlike other industries however, the banana industry is and may have been fundamental to the economic, social, cultural and political life of the people of the Windward Islands. It has been and still is part of the struggle for survival. This struggle will continue. This conference has emphasized that the struggle will and must go on for a long time if necessary.
