You can touch a life this Christmas!

21.DEC.07

HIS EXCELLENCY
SIR FREDERICK N. BALLANTYNE,
G.C.M.G., MD, GOVERNOR-GENERAL OF
ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES

If Jesus were to visit us this Christmas season, what is he likely to say to us?

This, my friends, is a very intriguing question, and if we were to catalogue all of the various responses, we would have enough information to fill several books.

I would like to share with you my answer to the question. {{more}}

He would certainly say: “I think you could do a lot better with the several gifts I have given to you.”

“You can help by cleaning up the environment and making it safer for your children and generations to come.”

“You can be more kind to your neighbours, and start with this season to forgive those who have done you wrong or those whom you think might be your enemy.”

“And what of the aged, the sick, the poor and the disabled? You certainly can touch the life of at least one of these persons this Christmas season.”

He might say: “I have not been on earth for a long time, but do you think you are doing enough to promote harmony and peace in St. Vincent and the Grenadines?”

“And what about those commandments I gave you? You might not agree with all, but certainly you might want this season to review them and use them to fashion a better life for you and the citizens of this land you call Home of the Blessed.”

“And since you all say unity is strength, can you not all unite into some formidable power to face the tough challenges which lie ahead?”

Then maybe He might just say “Merry Christmas” “Be a good person” – “Be a Christian.”

My family and I wish you a happy and peaceful holiday season.
