Former CARICOM Youth Ambassador graduates
Phyllis Modonna Corke graduated on 9th November, 2008, with a Bachelorâs Degree in International Relations, with Upper Second Class Honours, from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica. She is a former
student of the Georgetown Government School, Girlsâ High School, and the Community College. She is the daughter of Yvonne Corke, of Georgetown, and Westmore âPepeâ Hazell, of New Montrose. She is a former Senior CARICOM Youth Ambassador, former second Vice President of the National Youth Council and Member of the NGO Committee, former Secretary of the National 4-H Council, and Adult Leader for the Palm Tree Youth Group. Modonna, who is a devoted Christian, gives thanks to God for her achievement. She thanks all who supported her during her studies, including Pastor Hollis Charles, members of her church, and sister Nel. She is the recipient of the Walter Rodney Award, and was awarded a scholarship to pursue her Masterâs degree in International Economics and International Law. Modonna dedicates this first degree to her Mother.
