Arifa Ryan-Charles was one of the six record breaking Vincentians to gain First Class Honours at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica graduation exercise. Arifa was the only student from the Special Education Class to accomplish the feat of First Class Honours. She also gained the award for the Most Outstanding Performance in Special Education.Mrs. Ryan-Charles who hails from Georgetown is a graduate of the Georgetown Government School, the Girls High School, the St. Vincent Teachers’ College and the Mico Teachers’ College (Jamaica). She is presently a teacher at the School for Children with Special Needs, Georgetown. Congratulations from mother Margaret Ryan, husband Calbert Charles, son Akeme Ryan, Ma, Ethel King, other relatives and friends.
