Teacher killed in ‘freak’ motor vehicle accident

Members of the teaching fraternity are among those mourning the death of a 46-year-old woman who was killed yesterday in what has been described as a “freak” motor vehicle accident.

Keriel Wiltshire, a resident of Brighton, was killed Saturday evening at Harmony Hall, when motor vehicle PC 6690 driven by Mario Wilson of Diamond slammed her against a wall.

According to reports, Wilson had given Wiltshire a ride to Harmony Hall to visit a friend, and moments after she exited the vehicle, it moved forward, instead of reversing, hitting Wiltshire and pressing her onto the wall near to where she was standing.

SEARCHLIGHT understands that the other occupants of the vehicle assisted with lifting the vehicle off Wlitshire.

In a post made on Facebook on Sunday, the St Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers Union expressed condolences to the family and friends of Wiltshire, who was a teacher at the Brighton Methodist School.

“The executive, staff and members of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers’ Union express heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late Sis. Keriel Wiltshire, who passed away yesterday. Our deepest sympathies also go out to the principal, staff and students of the Brighton Methodist School, where she was attached.”
