Ministry of Agriculture takes measures over air quality at Fisheries Department

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said it has instituted precautionary measures at Fisheries Department due to Air Quality Concerns. These measures include the relocation of some staff.

A notice issued by Permanent Secretary, Cuthbert Knight states that the ministry is “currently investigating a potential air quality issue at the Fisheries Department”,and “wishes to assure all stakeholders that the health and safety of our staff and the continuity of essential services are our top priorities”.

As a precaution, some members of staff at the Fisheries Department have been asked to remain at home until today, Friday, March 21, 2025. Senior personnel have also been relocated to the main ministerial building of the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure continued operations, the notice, dated March 18, 2025 states.

“This matter is being addressed with urgency. Experts have been engaged to assess the situation and implement necessary solutions. We will provide updates as the investigation progresses.”
