Speaker of SVG Parliament on official visit to Cuba

Speaker of the St Vincent and the Grenadines House of Assembly, Rochelle Forde, is in Cuba on an official visit.

The Speaker was received at the José Martí International Airport, Havana, by Alberto Núñez Betancourt, MP, and Deputy President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba.

The invitation for the March 16-21 visit was extended by the President of the Cuban parliament and the Council of State, Esteban Lazo Hernández, a release from the Cuban Embassy in SVG states.

The main purpose of the visit is to continue to develop Inter-parliamentary ties between both nations, that have maintained diplomatic relations for 32 years.

The Speaker while in Cuba, will visit centers of economic, historical, scientific and cultural interest. She will also hold official talks with Cuban authorities.

This important visit will contribute to continued strengthening of the friendship, collaboration and solidarity between both peoples, governments and parliaments, the release from the Cuban Embassy to St Vincent and the Grenadines states.
