Outstanding Girl Guides receive Chief Commissioner’s Award
Eighteen outstanding Girl Guides were recipients of the Chief Commissioner’s Award at this year’s Thinking Day celebrations held on Saturday, February, 22, 2025.
A release from the Girl Guides Association said the Chief Commissioner’s Award, Guiding’s highest national honour at World Thinking Day celebrations, recognises Girl Guides who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the fundamentals of girl guiding, leadership, and community service.
Under the 2025 World Thinking Day theme, “Our Story,” these young women stood proudly, representing the next generation of leaders in St Vincent and the Grenadines, the association said in its release. Their remarkable achievements serve as an inspiration to their peers and a testament to the impact of the Girl Guides Association in shaping confident, responsible, and service-oriented individuals, the release adds.

The Chief Commissioner’s Award is the culmination of years of hard work, growth, and commitment to the Guiding promise and law, the release outlines. These awardees have excelled in areas of leadership, community service, skill development, and personal growth, embodying the true spirit of Girl Guiding.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Commissioner of the Girl Guides Association of SVG, Laura Browne, commended the awardees, stating: “Each of these remarkable young women has embraced the values of Girl Guiding and has shown unwavering dedication to serving their communities. Their achievements today mark not only their personal success but also a bright future for our movement and our country.”
The association has extended congratulations to these “exceptional young women”, and expressed “profound gratitude to the dedicated Guiders, mentors, and families who have supported them on this journey”.
