Adelphi Secondary takes 2024 Regional Schools Investment Competition top prize
Students from the Adelphi Secondary School are the regional champions of the 2024 Regional Schools Investment Competition organised by the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange (ECSE).
The winning team, ‘Adelphi Enterprise’ won the Intra-Country segment of the competition in October, and went on to represent St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) in the regional competition which concluded on November, 29, 2024.
In the regional competition, the students from Adelphi were up against students from Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada and St Kitts and Nevis.
The awards ceremony will be held in 2025. The ECSE said in a release that the competition was “created to be a dynamic learning experience for high school and first year college students.”
The aim is to introduce these students to investing, and also provide an opportunity to experience securities market activities first hand”.
CHSS Emerging Investors of the Choiseul Secondary School, the Saint Lucia Intra-Country winner, was adjudged runner up in the regional competition. Schools that also competed in the regional stage of the competition were:
1. Anguilla: Rainbow City Investors, Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School.
2. Antigua and Barbuda: Green Magnates Enterprises, Irene B. Williams Secondary.
3. Dominica: Market Masters, Arthur Waldron Seventh Day Adventist Academy.
4. Grenada: Boys on the Hill Investment, Grenada Boys Secondary School.
5. St. Kitts and Nevis: Innovative Traders, Saddlers Secondary School.
