Vincentians among others being urged to apply for CCF grants
Vincentians are among nationals from several regional countries being encouraged to apply for grants under The Caribbean Culture Fund (CCF), which has begun its second call for proposals. Thirty-four grants totalling US$550,000 will be awarded to applicants from 12 countries.
The second call will be open to projects from six new countries: Puerto Rico, Guadeloupe, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Curacao, and the Cayman Islands, a release states.
This call will focus on three themes: Archiving and Memory; Migration and Caribbean Collaboration. The call includes projects from all sectors of the arts: Literary Arts; Visual Arts (all media, including photography and new and time-based media); Performing Arts (music, dance, theatre); Festival Arts; Film (fiction and documentary; feature length and short); Interdisciplinary art forms; Architecture; and Design.
This second call under the CCF is through its partnership with the Andrew Mellon Foundation. Support from the Mellon Foundation has significantly increased the number of grants to be distributed, the release explains. The Mellon grant also includes funding for residencies, fellowships and exchanges and will support the creation of a searchable database of funding opportunities to be made available via the CCF website, caribbeanculturefund.org.
The grant will be administered in partnership with two organizations: the fiscal sponsor, Ayiti Demen, a New York-based organization supporting work in Haiti and the wider Caribbean; the administrative partner, le Centre d’Art also known as Centre d’Art d’Haïti, dedicated to art and located in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
The call for proposals opened on September 24, 2024 with workshops and mentorship sessions.
The submission window opened on October 1, 2024. CCF said it is encouraging interested applicants to regularly visit the CCF’s website at www.caribbeanculturefund.org. for third part opportunities.
