South East Zone Police Youth Clubs clean beach for Earth Day
The South East Zone of Police Youth Clubs carried out a clean up of the Argyle beach last Saturday, April 20, 2024, to mark Earth Day.
The event, under the theme ‘Planet Vs Plastic’ involved enthusiastic participants from youth clubs in Biabou, Diamond, Mesopotamia,Richland Park and Stubbs, as well as students from the Adelphi Secondary School, a police release states.
The clean-up began at 8:00 a.m and culminated with the collection of two skips full of garbage, effectively clearing the beach of harmful debris and contributing to the health of the local environment. This initiative was made possible through the sponsorship of the SVG Environmental Trust and the support of the Central Water and Sewage Authority (CWSA), which supplied garbage bag, gloves and skips.
The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) in its release said it is proud of the commitment shown by the members of the Police Youth Clubs and the students from the Adelphi
Secondary School, and thanked all participants and community members who joined the effort. It also used the opportunity to urge everyone to remain committed to protecting the environment.
