Winners in 2023 icode784 competition had ‘enriching’ experience in Spain
In November 2023, the culmination of the NTRC’ s 11th annual icode784 Competition saw Ansonique Cuffy and Nicholai Williams representing team E-Tech from the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (DASGS), emerge victorious. Their project, a mobile application named ‘Evangelize’, facilitates connectivity among churches both locally and internationally, enabling members of the community to engage in fellowship and communication.
For their outstanding presentation of the Evangelize app, the team received a cash prize of EC$5,000.00 and an all-expenses-paid trip to Barcelona, Spain to attend an event for startups organized by the GSMA, known as the Four Years From Now (4YFN) Startup Event, a release from the NTRC states.
On February 22, 2024, Cuffy and Williams embarked on their journey from St. Vincent to attend the event, which commenced on February 26, 2024, and concluded on February 29, 2024.
Following their participation in the conference, Cuffy expressed her enthusiasm, describing it as an incredibly enriching experience characterized by a plethora of innovative ideas presented from various corners of the globe. One particularly memorable concept she highlighted was the concept of soil-less farming presented by an innovator from Africa.
Williams conveyed his appreciation to the NTRC for affording their team the invaluable opportunity to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds worldwide. He emphasized the importance of encouraging young persons to participate in the icode784 competition, as it opens doors to similar transformative experiences.
The 4YFN Startup Event stands as the pre-eminent gathering in the connectivity industry, attracting top-tier companies and innovators who share cutting-edge insights on the evolution and future of connectivity.
Renowned for its unparalleled networking opportunities with influential figures in the mobile and tech sectors, the event provided Cuffy and Williams with exposure to a diverse array of global companies and startups.
During their time at the 4YFN Startup Event, Cuffy and Williams were immersed in transformative ideas and pioneering discussions, fostering connections with an international network of contacts.
