NTRC’s MyApp Summer Programme to prepare teens for software development
The National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) will host its eighth annual summer coding and application development initiative known as the MyApp summer programme this year in July and August.
The programme will teach and expose participants between the ages of 13-18 years how to code using a pocket-sized computer known as the micro:bit. In a release, the NTRC said this will help participants to gain insightful knowledge in coding as the demand for software developers is increasing. This year the programmes will run for three weeks each during the summer vacation. The Bequia Community High School will host the first segment from July 17 to August 4; and from July 31 to August 18, the second segment will be held at the St. Vincent Grammar School from 9:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m daily at each location.
Application forms are available at the office of the NTRC and via the website www.ntrc.vc.
Applicants have until Friday, June 30, 2023 to submit their applications, and a registration fee of $50 per applicant is payable.
