SVG Coast Guard opens applications for its summer programme on Monday
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard Service (SVGCGS) and its partners, will launch its annual Youth Development Summer Programme on July 17, and it has advised that the application process begins on Monday, June 12.
The programme, which is being done in partnership with the Bank of St. Vincent and Grenadines, Sagicor Life Incorporated, Wind and Sea Tours Ltd, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines Port Authority will cater to persons 14-18 years of age. It will be conducted under the theme: Thirty years of shaping our Youths’ for Life’s High Seas, a release from the SVGCGS states.
The youth summer programme began in 1993 and is therefore marking its 30th year of operation.
Over that time about 3,700 individuals have participated in the programme, the release adds.
Forms for this year’s programme can be collected Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. by parents or guardians of children wishing to attend the programme which will be held at the Coast Guard Base in Calliaqua. The SVGCGS has advised that a limited number of forms is available and will therefore be issued on a first come first serve basis.
