Police sexual Offences Unit marks four years with week of activities
The Sexual Offences Unit (SOU) in the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSGPF) will hold a week of activities from November 6-12 to mark its fourth anniversary.
The theme is “Combatting Sexual Violence by Strengthening Family Dynamics.”
The unit was established on November 6, 2018 and charged with the responsibility of investigating sexually related cases, among other things.
A release from the police said the week of activities will open with a church service on November 6 at 9:00 a.m at the Glen Baptist Church and will continue on November 7 with a panel discussion on the issue of sexual violence on the police “On the Beat” programme on NBC Radio.
Other activities are a witness impact workshop at the Calliaqua Town Hall and whistle stops on the Leeward and Windward ends of the mainland.
A march and rally against sexual violence in Kingstown will bring the curtains down on day 7 of the activities.
The march will commence at 1:00 p.m. in front of the Central Police Station and will end at the Central Police Station where the rally would be held.
The police are inviting the public to participate in the week of activities.
