Dame Susan extends ‘heartfelt sympathy’ on passing of Queen Elizabeth II, opens book of condolence
Governor General of St Vincent and the Grenadines Dame Susan Dougan says she is “deeply saddened” to learn of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, this country’s head of state.
Dame Susan, who is the Queen’s local representative, said Her Majesty “gave 70 years of outstanding leadership; inspirational and selfless service. A life devoted to others that embodied unwavering commitment and compassion to humankind.”
The Governor General said “The Commonwealth has been truly blessed with a monarch viewed by millions of people as a symbol of stability and a driving force for meaningful change.”
Dame Susan extended “heartfelt sympathy to the Royal Family and the citizens of The Commonwealth.”
A book of condolence will be established at Government House from September 12 to 19, 2022.
The book will be available to dignitaries at the Great Hall of Government House between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm on September 12.
Members of the public are invited to sign the book from September 13 to 19 between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm.
