Insurance Association concludes training for stakeholders

The recently installed Insurance Association of SVG (IASVG) has fully committed itself to the continuous upliftment of standards in the insurance industry here in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). The Association said in a release that they hope to achieve this by working in close collaboration with the Insurance Institute of SVG.

This focus was emphasised by President of the IASVG Villette Browne at the culmination of a three week long virtual training program for stakeholders in the industry which ran from 14-29 September 2021. Topics covered included: Introduction to Insurance, Motor Crash Investigations, Property adjusting and managing customer expectations. President Browne stressed that the insurance market was an ever expanding one in scope, size and sophistication, hence the need for training and development for all persons and establishments working in it.

So education, training and development in the industry internally and externally will be central to its program for the year 2021-2022. President Browne further pointed to aspects of relationship building, profile enhancement, industry standardisation and community outreach as other areas of focus during the year. She concluded that the IASVG will endeavour to ensure that the local sector keeps up to date with the developing trends regionally and internationally and direct insurance practitioners and stakeholders associated with, and involved in the industry must recognise these developments and be prepared for the required upgrades.
