VINSAVE extends gratitude

The St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) Save the Children Fund (VINSAVE) is the recipient of gifts from Private and Public Day Care service through the Ministry of Social Development in Grenada.

Having heard about the plight of our country due to the explosive eruptions of La Soufriere, Grensave provided necessary supplies to Vinsave. Many childcare workers in Grenada and the other two Windward Islands were trained as pre-school teachers/childcare practitioners at the Vinsave Child Development Training Centre, Murray’s Road, Kingstown, over the years. Dawne Cyrus who initiated the donation, now National Daycare Co-ordinator in the Ministry of Social Development, Grenada was one such person.

Marcia Sutherland and friends of the USA also provided tremendous support for the agency to be distributed to the communities and centres where Vinsave works.

Lennox Bowman of the Lions Club South of St Vincent, Mr Browne of Coreas, Massy Stores and the Ministry of Social Development, also gave support.

VINSAVE which celebrates its 58th year of operation in St Vincent and the Grenadines, having started as the British Save the Children Fund in 1963, and later, Canadian Save the Children Fund (CANSAVE), continues to offer a diversified programme of Child Development, Child Development Training and Social & Community Development. The Agency has and continues to touch the lives of many, and at the same time, reaches out a helping hand to those in need.
