SVG reports four new Covid-19 cases of which two are imported

St Vincent and the Grenadines recorded four new positive cases from samples  collected between Thursday, March 18 to Saturday, March 20, a release from the National Emergency Management Organization said on Sunday.

Two positives are for  travelers who arrived with negative PCR tests and tested positive during quarantine  screening. Two of these four new positive cases were from 73 samples received and processed on Saturday, March 20, 2021, resulting in a  positivity rate of 2.7%. 

“Two recoveries were reported bringing the number of total recoveries to 1523. One hundred and sixty-eight (168) cases remain  active and nine persons with COVID-19 have died. One thousand, seven hundred (1700) cases of COVID-19 have been reported in St Vincent and the Grenadines since March 2020,” the release said.  

The public is urged to consistently use properly fitting masks, sanitize, physically  distance and get vaccinated to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in St. Vincent and  the Grenadines.
