Applications invited from SVG for Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects

The Embassy of Japan in Port of Spain, Trinidad, is accepting applications for the Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) for the Japanese fiscal year 2021 (April 1,2021 to March 31, 2022) for St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The areas covered include, but are not limited to: 1. Poverty Alleviation; 2. Public Welfare; 3. The Environment and Disaster Risk Management (including climate change mitigation and adaptation); 4. Primary Health Care; and 5. Education.

The Government of Japan offers a financial assistance scheme for development projects designed to meet the diverse needs of developing countries such as St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The project known as Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) or KUSANONE supports projects proposed by local non-profit organizations including non governmental organizations (NGOs), schools, hospitals, and local government authorities aimed to benefit community at the grassroots KO SAONO NE level. The St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School was the last beneficiary of the GGP project in SVG in 2019..

A ceiling of 10,000,000 Japanese Yen (approximately US$92,592.00) is set for one project for the fiscal year 2021.

Interested organisations/groups are required to submit applications to the Embassy of Japan in Port of Spain, Trinidad no later than April 30, 2021.
