Taiwan donates US$173,000 to MOH

The Republic of China (Taiwan) on October 12 handed over a cash donation of US$173,000 to The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment for a Capacity Building Project for the Prevention and Control of Diabetes.

The funds were handed over during a brief ceremony, at the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment Conference Room, and will be utilized to train local health personnel to strengthen their capacity in diabetes prevention and control.

“This generous donation will also be used to support an intervention study to evaluate the efficacy of a Self-Management Education Program under the Diabetes Prevention and Control Project. Through this and other previous donation the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Environment is able to significantly further enhance its capacity for diabetes prevention and control to benefit the citizens of this blessed nation,” a release from the ministry of health said.
