The Sandy Bay Secondary School has shown improvement in the preliminary results of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exam for 2020, recording a pass rate of over 70 per cent.

Deputy principal Racquel Warrick informed that up from 65.76 per cent passes in 2019, the school has recorded a 70.99 per cent pass rate this year for the 46 students who wrote the exams.

Their shining subjects were Physical Education and Electronic Document Preparation and Management (EDPM), for which they recorded 100 per cent passes.

On the other hand, the three students who wrote Family and Resource Management, had no passes. For history, one of three students passed.

Top performers for the school are Lenroy Sutherland and Veronique Thomas, who each passed seven subjects.

The CSEC results were released on September 22, with the final mark, for the most part, being a combination of grades from a multiple choice paper and moderated school based assessments (SBAs).
Many schools are in the process querying some results with the view that they will improve.
